Website Instructions

Each of the bars below has a set of instructions. Click on the bar to open the content.

 

Registration Instructions


To have access to all functions, you must become a registered user. In order to do this, please use your first and last name OR your first initial and last name. Your password is up to you.

When you register, you can choose what name to use on the website. Please also use your name for this as well.

Registered users have some ability to add information to the website in certain areas. All submissions come through the administrator and must be approved before they will be released on the website. The administrator has the right to edit for content, clarity, or composition. Any fundraising or event information must be approved by the Vista Grande principal prior to the release of any information.

Submission Instructions

  1. In order to submit, you first must be registered and logged in.
  2. Once you are logged in, you will notice a User Menu on the left appear. Click on Submit Content.
  3. It is very important that you select the appropriate category...but keep in mind that the administrator may move your submission.
  4. Create a SHORT title for your submission.
  5. Type your information in the Intro section. Do NOT use the bottom editing window unless you have additional information past a couple brief paragraphs.
  6. Click on the SAVE icon.

Navigation

Most of the static information is available under the tabs at the top of the page. However, new information may be added at any time. The Latest Updates list will tell you what has been recently added or edited, but is not a list of everything that is available on the website.  You can also do a search if you are looking for something specific. When someone adds content they are required to choose a category. So, for example, if Mrs. Wagner wants to make an announcement about an assignment, she can submit this after logging in and using the submit form, choosing "Wagner" as the category. When you click on Mrs. Wagner's tab, the new announcement will show up under her tab.

Calendar

To access the calendar, click on the month title of the small calendar on the sidebar. This will take you to the main calendar page. On this page, you can navigate through the calendar by month, year, etc., You can also jump to a particular month by clicking on the last picture above the calendar. This will bring up a menu list of months and years. To submit an event or calendar note, there is a text link below the calendar. You must enter a SHORT title and a category on the first tab, and you can add more detailed information below in the text area. This will put the event title on the calendar, and then viewers can click on the event and get the additional information. After you enter the title and category, you need to go to the second tab and click on the dates (make sure you do this, because the default will be "today's" date). Make sure you check the box there if you do not have a specific start time, or it will enter the default time of 8:00am into the calendar.
